The Overseas Business Network provides market access support for export-focussed British SMEs. BritCham Indonesia is an accredited member of the network and works alongside Department of International Trade (DIT) to provide services and intelligence about opportunities across all sectors.
Accreditation provides quality assurance across a range of services that include but are not limited, to market research, following market trends in Indonesia, promoting products or services, export strategy development, getting the right local partner, identifying local contacts, arranging visit programmes, business matchmaking, trade missions and offering sector-specific B2B webinars.
Since the start of this overseas business network initiative in October 2013, together with partners, BritCham has supported over 550 companies in exploring opportunities in Indonesia. TO QUALIFY FOR BRITCHAM INDONESIA’S BUSINESS SERVICES, A BUSINESS MUST:
Have an active UK trading address
This includes both UK-based businesses investing, or looking to invest overseas and foreign-owned businesses based in the UK. Not-for-profit organisations and charities also qualify.
Be able to demonstrate that any support they receive from BritCham Indonesia would help them deliver economic benefit to the UK through their trading address
A BUSINESS IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR BRITCHAM’S BUSINESS SERVICES IF IT:
is illegal to produce or sell in the UK or in the target market; or
if sold abroad would breach export controls
Where in the reasonable opinion of BritCham Indonesia, an applicant, a company or an individual has a business record or business practices or products which is/are likely to cause offence in the overseas market and the UK Government (for example, on corporate social responsibility grounds)
ELIGIBLE BUT NOT YET READY TO EXPORT:
If BritCham Indonesia deems the company eligible for the services described but not in a position to best benefit from the services, the company will be directed to DIT Team in the UK who will assist the Company with a range of services to help them become export ready. Following this, they will be offered the services in Indonesia delivered through OBNi. BritCham retains discretion on who can access its services.
